The BioNorth Biotechnology and Life Sciences Conference and Exhibition, now in its 13th year, has grown from a small regional conference to an international event attracting over 800 delegates and speakers from across the country and around the world.
In its first year—1994—BioNorth began under the name "Ottawa Life Sciences National Conference and Exhibition". It was the first Canadian conference that met the needs of the Life Sciences sector, blending both the business and science disciplines, and bringing together biotechnology and life sciences professionals from all facets of the industry—industry executives, regulators, investors, researchers, clinicians, academics and students.
For the 13th year running, the Ottawa Life Sciences Council is proud to provide a forum for the Biotechnology and Life Sciences community to discover, learn, network and partner in a truly unique environment—the nation's capital.

The life science and biotechnology industries continue to harness discoveries for leading edge outcomes. Whether it's through new drug discovery models, improving the fight against diseases, or applying life sciences knowledge in other sectors, BioNorth 2005 International Life Sciences and Biotechnology Conference and Exhibition provided the venue to celebrate advances in research, to network and to discuss the business of science.
The exhibit floor at BioNorth 2005 was an opportunity to showcase companies, technologies, and research. In addition to being open to conference delegates, BioNorth 2005 expanded exhibitor opportunities by opening the exhibit floor to Ottawa’s industry, federal government and institutional research communities, increasing traffic and exposure exhibiting organizations.
Among the highlights of this year's conference was the announcement of the 2005/2006 Canada’s Top 10 Life Sciences Companies Competition Finalists.

BioNorth 2003 was a conference that showcased success in so many different ways: technology foresight, cutting-edge research, cluster development, business, investment, and capacity building with a special focus on biotechnology, bioproducts and convergent technologies.
2003 saw the launch of BioNorth's BioPartnering, a new way to improve the delegate partnering experience through proprietary web-based partnering software. Using the web, company delegates scheduled one-on-one meetings with other delegates prior to the conference. This ensured that delegates maximized their conference networking and business experience while reducing the risk of missing an important business opportunity.
In 2003, BioNorth also featured an expanded international science and business program that promoted effective partnerships and collaborations between Europe and North America .
